Our vision:
At Springfield Playgroup we give every child the opportunity to grow independently in a happy, safe and enriching environment.
About
Springfield Playgroup has been running at Upminster Baptist Church since 1968. As a church based playgroup we see our ethos as a Christian service to the local community.
Springfield Playgroup is a not-for-profit registered charity (charity number: 1210916) meaning we exist purely for the benefit of the children.
The Playgroup is managed by a board of Trustees who meet once a term with the Playgroup Manager to discuss all aspects of the playgroup, including finance and future plans.
The Playgroup is covered by the Children Act 2004 and the Childcare Act 2006 and follows the EYFS. We are regularly inspected by Ofsted. At our last inspection in May 2019 we were awarded 'OUTSTANDING'.
A maximum of 26 children attend at any one time, each child attends for between 2 and 8 sessions per week.
Our Aims
We aim to continue your work in giving your child the best possible start in the educational system. We know that every child is unique and we aim to develop their personalities, talents and abilities at their own pace.
We encourage children to develop their natural curiosity for the world around them by providing an enabling environment both indoors and outdoors.
We aim to encourage children to communicate with each other (and with adults), to share and play together, to feel secure and to respect the needs of others.
Our aim is to encourage child-led play implemented by providing a variety of stimulating resources from which the children can choose. This allows them to be active learners who use their natural gifts of curiosity and creativity in making their own discoveries. Staff integrate fully with the children, allowing them to initiate play but also to encourage and introduce new ideas and activities to improve their development whether it is socially, physically or academically.
Our overall aim at Springfield Playgroup is to give your child an opportunity to grow independently in a happy, safe and secure environment and get them ready for all that school has to offer.
